What’s the process like?

Here is a brief run down of what to expect from us. To secure coverage we need a signed contract and retainer payment. From there we send you our new client welcome kit filled with great tips, preferred vendors and all around advice. Next we setup your engagement session at a location of your choice. A few weeks after your session your proofs will be ready. We will invite you to the studio for a viewing session complete with a projector and music. In the months leading up to your wedding, we work with you and your "team" to come up with a well thought out plan for your wedding day. We discuss things like timelines, logistics and family portraits. After the wedding we show your proofs on a private website that you can share with your friends and family. Once you've picked your favorite images we setup your album design consultation to produce your personalized book.

Do we get the rights to the images?

You will get a written release in your contract to use the images for personal use. You can print them, share them, post them on social media, etc. Please feel free to call or email if you have a more specific question.

Do you work with second shooters?

Every collection has the option to include additional shooters for a small fee. Our associates are all full-time professional photographers with extensive experience in different photographic genres. This allows us the flexibility to choose the right photographer to compliment my style and vision for your wedding.

How far do you travel?

We have been very fortunate to have commissions in Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean and about half of the contiguous US. We are available for your wedding anywhere.

Is an engagement session included in your collections?

Absolutely, and they’re fun! It's important to get comfortable in front of the camera before your walk down the aisle. You can pick a favorite spot or activity and we’ll guide you through the rest. It also gives us a chance to get to know one another, which helps us create better pictures for you.

Talk to me about the editing process?

We use the latest software and tech gear to deliver the highest quality photographs possible. Period. Kurstin looks at every image and hand selects his favorites based on his artistic vision for your wedding day. From there Kurstin and his editors look at every individual image and make the necessary artistic adjustments to make sure each image looks its best. Some images will be delivered in black in white while the majority will be in color. If you have a strong preference please discuss this with us before your wedding.

How many images do we get?

In short, every wedding is different. It depends on a number of factors including the amount of coverage, how many photographers you want, the number of guests and variety of action. For an 8 hour day, we’ve delivered as few as 600 and as many as 1,300. It's substantially more than the 36 your parents may have received from their photographer back in the day.

Will you help us plan our wedding day timeline?

Yes! Part of creating a collection of beautiful images is coming up with a smart timeline that enables us to get everything you want. We regularly collaborate with event planners, designers, MOB’s and our couples over timing, transportation, permits, weather, etc.

What about the unedited files?

We’re going to give you the best of the best of the best. We carefully and thoughtfully edit your photos to create a collection of images that have all the important moments and people you love. We get rid of the annoying blinks, duplicate frames, occasional over/under exposures and the ones that just plain don’t look good. The unedited files are not available.

What happens if i break my leg?

I guarantee I will still be at your wedding. Seriously. In the event of a catastrophic accident we will contact you as far ahead of time as possible to discuss all the options. I’ve shot a wedding with broken ribs before and it got published in a magazine shortly thereafter.

Are you insured?

Absolutely. Please contact us if your venue needs a copy of our policy.

What kind of gear do you use?

I use professional Canon equipment with multiple camera bodies, a plethora of the best lenses and lots of nerdy photographer tidbits.

Do you accept shot lists?

We will definitely discuss all of your group and family portraits a few weeks before your big day. Beyond those planned portraits I ask that you let me do my thing, because you hired me specifically for my documentary and artistic style.

Do you shoot (small, huge, jewish, catholic, persian, indian, gay, greek orthodox) weddings?

Simply put, yes.

Now do you do video/films too?

We specialize in photography but I’m happy to recommend some great folks who shoot amazing films.

How many weddings have you photographed?

Lots. I’ve lost count but I’d say north of 400.

Can you hold my date?

Dates are available on a first come first serve basis and are held with a signed contract and retainer.

What do we do if we need additional coverage on the wedding day?

Should you feel you need to extend your coverage either before or during your wedding we’re happy to stay. Additional hours are billed in 30 minute increments.

What is your cancellation policy?

All retainers are non-refundable. Should you need to cancel your wedding more than 90 days out you will simply forfeit your retainer and any money already paid. Since the likelihood of re-booking your date less than 90 days from your wedding is unlikely you will be responsible for all fees in your contract.
